The City Government of Batac and Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) sealed a Memorandum of Agreement on September 9, 2025, to strengthen community-based tourism and hospitality development.
MMSU President Dr. Virgilio Julius P. Manzano Jr. and Batac City Mayor Hon. Mark Christian “Markee” R. Chua, represented by City Councilor Eleuterio A. Salamangkit Jr., led the ceremonial signing.
Under the agreement, the Dap-ayan Ni Mannalon Site in every barangay, will serve as the hub for extension projects. It will showcase sustainable, community-based farm tourism and hospitality practices. The pilot implementation of the project is the Dap-ayan of Barangay Sumader.
Also present at the ceremony were City Agriculturist Mark Allan Abad, Tourism Officer Angelica Yumul, Barangay Captain Crispin Putulan of Sumader, College of Business, Economics and Accountancy (CBEA) Dean Emil James Tanagon, Mercy Fausto Gano representing Extension Director Marlowe Aquino, CBEA-Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management Chair Buena Creselda Taloza, and faculty members of said department.
