The City of Batac officially launched the PalengQR Plus today at the Batac Public Market, bringing digital payments closer to vendors, tricycle drivers, and local merchants.
Developed by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), the program promotes cashless payments and financial inclusion among market vendors and the local transport sector.
The event was graced by Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos, along with city and provincial officials, representatives from BSP, financial service providers, national government agencies, the Batac public market community and tricycle drivers.
Mayor Markee Chua expressed his full support, saying that improving the public market and going digital are key priorities of his administration.
