The City Government of Batac has named the winners of the Search for Environment-Friendly Barangays 2025, an effort to sustain cleanliness, orderliness, teamwork, and environmental responsibility in all barangays. The awarding ceremony was conducted in celebration of Zero Waste Month this January.

Innovative Waste Management Champion – Barangay Maipalig
Zero-Waste Excellence Award – Barangay Caunayan
Circular Economy and Livelihood Program Award – Barangay Tabug
Climate-Smart and Resilient Barangay – Barangay Capacuan
Sustainable IEC and Engagement Award – Barangay Colo
Biodiversity and Green Space Conservation Award – Barangay Parangopong
Best Waste Monitoring Barangay – Barangay Caunayan
All winners received cash prizes and plaques.
The awarding was led by city officials headed by Mayor Markee R. Chua. In his message, Mayor Chua encouraged all barangays to strengthen their environmental and waste management programs and to use the winners as benchmarks.
Also held was the Trash-to-Craft Competition, which promoted creativity, upcycling, and environmental care. The winners are:
