The City Government of Batac led the commemoration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day on June 12, bringing together government agencies, educational institutions, community leaders, and the youth in a meaningful tribute to the nation’s freedom and history.
The celebration was highlighted by the keynote message of Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis, Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), who emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices of our heroes while inspiring Filipinos to actively contribute to nation-building.
Joining the celebration were representatives from national government agencies, uniformed personnel, city government employees, DepEd officials and personnel, students, Sangguniang Kabataan officials, Punong Barangays, and members of the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of the Philippines.
Anchored on this year’s theme, “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan,” the event served as a reminder that the freedom we enjoy today was earned through sacrifice and must be preserved through unity, responsibility, and active citizenship.
As one nation, the City of Batac proudly honors the legacy of our heroes and reaffirms its commitment to helping build a stronger and brighter future for all Filipinos.
