BATAC BECOMES FIRST IN ILOCOS NORTE TO LAUNCH GCASH CITY-ZEN’S ID

City of Batac marked another milestone in digital governance with the official launch of the GCash CITY-zen’s ID during its 19th Charter Day Celebration, becoming the first local government unit in Ilocos Norte to implement the program.

Designed to improve the delivery of government services, the GCash CITY-zen’s ID allows residents to conveniently receive financial assistance and benefits through digital transactions. For the City Government of Batac, the system will be utilized in the distribution of assistance to scholars and other beneficiary sectors, ensuring faster release of aid and minimizing long queues.

Mayor Markee R. Chua and Ms. Trisha Dizon, GCash Public Sector Head for North and Central Luzon, formally signed the Memorandum of Agreement during the launch.

Mayor Chua welcomed the partnership with GCash, highlighting its role in advancing the city’s digitalization efforts and providing more efficient, accessible, and convenient services to Batacqueños.

Also joining the initiative was Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), which signed a separate agreement with GCash for the implementation of digital payment solutions within the university.
