City of Batac was recognized with the Balangay Seal of Excellence, the highest award conferred by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) to local government units for exemplary and sustained implementation of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program.
SPM Macarthur Aguinaldo, Chairperson of the Committee on Peace and Order, together with members of the City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC), received the award during the recognition ceremony held today in Vigan City.
Batac is among only three local government units in Ilocos Norte to receive the distinction, alongside Pagudpud and Solsona.
Recognition highlights the collective efforts of the City Government of Batac under the leadership of Mayor Markee R. Chua, Vice Mayor Albert D. Chua, the Sangguniang Panlungsod, barangay officials, partner agencies, and the community in advancing programs that promote a safer, healthier, and drug-free city.
