5,785 farmers of the city are receiving coupons from the Fuel Subsidy Program of the City Government of Batac starting today, January 16 until January 20.
Now in its second year, this program was initiated by the city government through the leadership of Mayor Albert D. Chua to ensure on-time irrigation of crops during dry cropping season and minimize the impact of the continually increasing cost of fuel to our farmers.
The coupons shall be used by the farmer-beneficiaries in claiming their fuel subsidy from the servicing gasoline stations. Farmer-beneficiaries must be listed at the Registry System for Basic Sector in Agriculture (RSBSA) and with crops this dry cropping season duly validated by their respective Agricultural Extension Worker.
The amount of fuel subsidized to each farmer is based on the fuel requirement of the crop or commodity they have planted this season.
