The City Government of Batac through the City Health Office recently organized an Adolescent Health Symposium for students from different secondary schools in the city. The symposium was held on April 20, 2023, at the Kalipi Training Center.
The program aims to empower young people by enhancing their knowledge on important health-related issues, particularly on mental and physical well-being.
It featured speakers from the Adolescent Health and Development Program of the Department of Health. The discussions revolved around the different aspects of adolescent health, which include the promotion of mental and physical well-being, suicide prevention, teenage pregnancy, gender and youth empowerment, among others.
It is an initiative of the City Government of Batac aimed at addressing the specific health needs of young people, particularly those in their adolescent years. The symposium also serves as a platform for young people to learn from health experts and acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about their health.
