The City Government of Batac joined the nation in honoring the courage, bravery and heroism of the Filipino men and women who have fought and sacrificed in defending our country during the second world war.
A wreath-laying ceremony was conducted at Batac Veterans Park and Shrine in Barangay Camandingan on April 10, 2023. The place is also known with its war name Jungle City or Pangasaan – the seat of the military government of the Municipality of Batac, Ilocos Norte under the leadership of Mayor Catalino P. Acosta who never surrendered the municipal government to the Japanese Imperial Forces from December 8, 1941 to February 28, 1945.
