To further boost the capability of our Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) on their mandate to link communities with nutrition and related services, the City Government of Batac conducts capability enhancement training focused on the Basic Course for BNS and Management on Acute Malnutrition.
The five-day training for the city’s 46 BNS commenced today, April 12 at the Kalipi Training Center. It is facilitated by Lovely Alibuyog, City Nutrition Officer, with resource persons from the Provincial Nutrition Office and Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center (MMMH&MC).
Vice Mayor Windell D. Chua together with some members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod graced the opening ceremonies of the training program.
The deployment of BNS in every barangay is mandated by Presidential Decree 1569, and are considered as volunteer workers.
