To further elevate the assistance to local farmers, the Department of Agriculture (DA) and PhilRice will be distributing free hybrid and inbred palay seeds on the next two weeks, June 13-16, and June 19-22 at Barangay Tabug Community Center.
Facilitated by the Office of the City Agriculturist, the distribution held today was graced by Vice Mayor Windell D. Chua together with some members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.
This program, in collaboration with the City Government of Batac, not only provides essential support, but also extends an inclusive help to the farming community of Batac. The said free hybrid and inbred palay seeds are proven to produce a better yield, at about 5-10% increase in harvest rate, and significantly decreases the production cost of the local farmers.
Mobilizing such agricultural services mirrors the goal for sustainable progress, which the City Mayor, Engr. Albert D. Chua envisions.
