Five hundred senior citizens received on Wednesday, June 14, their social pension funded by the City Government of Batac. Each senior citizen received 3,000 pesos for the first and second quarters of 2023.
A program patterned from that of the national government, this aims to augment the daily subsistence of senior citizens.
Eligible recipients must be indigent; not receiving the social pension from the national or provincial government, or any other sources of pension; do not have a permanent source of income, compensation or financial assistance from family or relatives to support basic needs.
The payout was facilitated by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) and the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA).
Vice Mayor Windell D. Chua together with some members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod graced the distribution to extend their wishes of more years of good health and strong well-being to all the elderlies.
