CITY OF BATAC AND SCIENCE CITY OF MUÑOZ FORGE SISTERHOOD

The City of Batac and the Science City of Muñoz officially forged their sisterhood agreement on August 22, 2023. The pact aims to solidify collaboration, particularly in the areas of agricultural science and technology.

The City of Batac headed by Mayor Albert D. Chua and Vice Mayor Windell D. Chua hosted the signing ceremony, welcoming Mayor Baby Armi L. Alvarez and Vice Mayor Nestor L. Alvarez of Muñoz, along with key personnel from their city.

Both cities have a strong focus on agricultural innovation, and this partnership reflects their commitment to advancing science and technology within the agricultural sector. Muñoz, in particular, has been declared as Science City by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) as it houses various state-of-the-art centers of excellence, research, and development agencies.

Mayor Albert D. Chua expressed enthusiasm about the alliance, stating that the sisterhood agreement is not merely a formality but a symbol of shared purpose and shall pave the way for scientific and technological advancement that will benefit the two cities.

Mayor Baby Armi Alvarez echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the transformative power of collaboration.
