The legacy of Former President Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. was honored as the nation marked his 106th Birth Anniversary today, September 11. Spearheaded by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., a series of commemorative events were held in the City of Batac, their hometown.

The day began with a thanksgiving mass at the Immaculate Conception Parish and a wreath-laying ceremony at the Marcos Monument.

In his remarks, PBBM noted that it is indeed heartwarming to revisit the life that has left such a rich legacy to our nation.

Thereafter, a cook-off showcasing Ilocano vegetable dishes was held at the Imelda Cultural Center demonstrating the vibrant culinary traditions of the Ilocano.

This special celebration was made possible through the joint efforts of the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte, led by Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc, and the City Government of Batac, led by Mayor Albert D. Chua.
