The Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City of Batac, under the leadership of Vice Mayor Windell D. Chua achieved significant recognitions in the 2023 Local Legislative Awards, in both provincial and regional levels.
At the provincial level, the City of Batac was named the winner of the Local Legislative Award (City Category). This award, bestowed by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) honors the exceptional performance dedication of local government units in the field of local legislation.
Individual members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod have also received accolades for their commendable service. Hon. Bismark Angelo A. Quidang was awarded First Runner-up Most Outstanding Sangguniang Panlungsod Member in Ilocos Norte, Component Cities Category. In addition, Hon. Kichel Jomarie G. Pungtilan was recognized as Second Runner-up.
Following their provincial awards, the Sangguniang Panlungsod secured the spot of First Runner-up among component cities in the entire Region 1 for the Local Legislative Award Regional Level.
These awards highlight the commitment and hard work of the Sangguniang Panlungsod members in serving the City of Batac.
