7 barangays in the city of Batac were awarded “Drug-cleared” by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on February 7 at the Office of the City Mayor.
Awardees included barangays Biningan, Ricarte, Dariwdiw, Ablan, Cangrunaan, Baoa East, and Magnuang. Each barangay’s respective Punong Barangay was present to receive the commendation.
Recognizing the threat posed by drug abuse within the community, the City Government of Batac, led by Mayor Albert D. Chua, has consistently demonstrated its commitment to combatting it, collaborating and supporting the PNP and PDEA in their drug-clearing initiatives.
A barangay is declared drug-cleared after it is previously reported as drug-affected and has successfully undergone drug-clearing efforts to rid of identified cases related to illegal drugs.
PDEA Provincial Officer Ian Richard U. Tinong and Batac City Chief of Police Adrian Gayuchan presented the awards to the recipients. BFP Chief Arnel Ratuita, as well as ABC President Gilbert O. Medina were among notable attendees at the event.
