The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN), led by Gov. Matthew Marcos Manotoc, recently distributed various social, medical, and agricultural assistance to the residents of the City of Batac.
Under the social pension program, 40 PWDs received financial aid amounting to 3,000 pesos each for the 1st semester of 2024. Additionally, in response to the partial damage caused by Typhoon Carina, construction materials were provided to 7 households following assessments by the Provincial Engineering Office, PSWDO, and CSWDO. One beneficiary received financial assistance amounting to 3,000 pesos.
In line with the agricultural assistance initiatives, 45 recipients were provided with a knapsack sprayer, humus, pesticide, and foliar fertilizer through the AgrikaDito Program of the Province. Moreover, to help farmers whose vegetable produce was devastated by Typhoon Carina, assorted vegetable seeds were distributed.
To address the aftermath of livestock losses due to Typhoon Carina, 17 recipients who suffered the deaths of their livestock received food packs. Additionally, livestock growers affected by Typhoon Egay were offered support in the form of swine and goats along with essential feeds. Specifically, 18 recipients received swine, while 26 individuals received goats.
These initiatives are part of the PGIN’s ongoing effort to aid and uplift the affected communities after calamities.
