CITY OF BATAC HOSTS MILESTONE CEREMONIES IN CARP IMPLEMENTATION

The City of Batac hosted the Milestone Ceremonies in the implementation of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) held on July 4 at the Tabug Community Center.

Key highlights of the event included the distribution of Farm Machinery and Equipment (FMEs) under the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support (CRFPS) Project for CY 2025, the turnover of Farm-to-Market Roads (FMRs) funded by the Agrarian Reform Fund (ARF), and the launching of the Empanada Agrarian Reform Community (ARC).

Mayor Markee R. Chua, together with Vice Mayor Albert D. Chua, expressed their heartfelt gratitude to DAR for its continuous support to the City of Batac.

The establishment of the Empanada ARC is expected to bring improvement in agricultural productivity, strengthen land tenure security, and expand access to infrastructure, credit, and other support services that will uplift the livelihood of farmers. The Empanada ARC is composed of the clustered communities of Barangays Colo, Mabaleng, Magnuang, Quiling Norte, Quiling Sur, Pimentel and Tabug.

Present at the event were DAR Regional Director Maria Ana Francisco, Ilocos Norte Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, and officials from other local government units.
