Batac tricycle drivers are receiving Php 1,500 cash aid each from the city government starting March 14.
The program which benefits 3,222 tricycle drivers aims to help them cope with the continuing rise in fuel prices.
During the first day of payout, Mayor Albert D. Chua said that he hopes the cash aid will help them with their needs like tricycle maintenance or other necessities.
He also stressed that the City Government of Batac will continue to pursue programs and initiatives to help the transport sector amid the ongoing uncertainties in the world oil market.
Vice Mayor Windell D. Chua together with the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod also graced the first day of payout.
The payout runs from March 14 to 17 at the Imelda Cultural Center facilitated by the Office of the Vice Mayor – Franchise Section and the Office of the City Treasurer.
