As the City of Batac ushers its 16th Charter Anniversary on June 23, 2023, and in observance of Arbor Day, a tree planting activity was conducted today, June 17.
The activity took place across four sites, specifically at the Small Water Impounding Projects (SWIP) situated in Barangay Dariwdiw, Baoa East, Mabaleng, and Magnuang. The activity was actively participated by city officials and employees, along with personnel from the BJMP Batac District Jail, City of Batac Police Station, BFP Batac, and the barangay officials of the barangays.
With an aim to maintain the city’s greenery and preserve its watersheds, over 2000 mahogany seedlings were planted across the four sites. This endeavor underscores the commitment of the City Government of Batac, under the leadership of Mayor Albert D. Chua, to environmental stewardship and sustainability.
As we honor our 16th Charter Anniversary, we also highlight the importance of our natural resources and the role each citizen plays in their conservation.
Arbor Day is celebrated in the City of Batac every 3rd Saturday of June each year pursuant to City Ordinance No. 3SP 2013-04.
