The Legislative Department of the City Government of Batac led by Vice Mayor Windell D. Chua warmly welcomed the Provincial Awards Committee (PAC) of the Search for the Local Legislative Award 2023 for the period 2019 to 2022.
Local Legislative Award aims to recognize the promising efforts of the Sangguniang Panlungsod that excels in the enactment of ordinances and resolutions, and encourage them to continue serving with their best to significantly contribute in the attainment of positively impactful and beneficial socio-economic and environmental policies and regulations in the city.
As reiterated and emphasized by Vice Mayor Windell D. Chua, this award is a testament to the commitment towards good governance and effective legislation. It also serves as the beacon in the pursuit of the progress and development of the City of Batac.
The Provincial Award Committee (PAC), led by the DILG, assessed and evaluated the legislative department’s performance and accomplishment reports using the six criteria: Responsiveness of the Legislative Agenda, Availability of Legislative Documents, Effectiveness of Performance of the Sanggunian, Efficiency of Performance of the Sanggunian, Legislative Citations and Awards, and the Capacity Development for Legislators and Staff.
The PAC members commended and applauded the Legislative Department for presenting exceptional, comprehensive, transparent, and all-inclusive reports from the past four years up to the present which had consistently actualized and secured a holistic sustainable development felt and experienced by all of its constituents.
The conference ended with Vice Mayor Chua assuring the evaluation team that the Legislative Department will immediately respond to the recommended minimal improvements and will constantly strive for excellence.
