Recognizing the importance of timely irrigation of crops, especially during the dry cropping season, the City Government of Batac headed by Mayor Albert D. Chua once again launched the Fuel Subsidy Program for farmers.
This priority program aims to ensure quality agricultural produce, minimize production costs, and maintain a high crop yield during the dry cropping season, and with the threat of El Niño phenomenon.
The 6212 beneficiaries are farmers listed in the Registry System for Basic Sector in Agriculture (RSBSA). Each farmer was validated based on the kind of crop they planted, fuel requirement per hectare, and land area to determine the amount of fuel to be subsidized.
Distribution started on January 10 and was facilitated by the Office of the City Agriculturist.
Gracing the first day of distribution were the Sangguniang Panlungsod Members to demonstrate their support to the program and to the Batacqueño farmers.
