Vice Gov. Cecilia Araneta Marcos on behalf of Gov. Matthew Marcos Manotoc, together with provincial government officials, and the city officials of Batac City headed by Mayor Albert D. Chua, launched the Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) Center in Batac at the Imelda Cultural Center this morning, January 15.
The Batac Kadiwa Center will be open on every 15th and 30th of the month at the ICC featuring below market priced products from both rural and urban barangays, as well as local SME’s.
First initiated by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., in collaboration with several national government agencies including DOLE, DWSD, DA, NFA, OP, DILG, and DTI, Kadiwa ng Pangulo is part of the president’s development plan in achieving food security for the nation.
Kadiwa stands for “Katuwang sa Diwa at Gawa para sa Masaganang Ani at Mataas na Kita,” modeling a farm-to-consumer market chain. It provides a platform to allow farmers, and small business owners from different barangays to showcase their local produce and have a sustainable market, as well as for the citizens to have access to affordable local agricultural products.
