Batac Hosts Province-wide International Youth Day and Linggo ng Kabataan Celebration

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte, through the Ilocos Norte Youth Development Office, kicked off the International Youth Day and Linggo ng Kabataan festivities with a Youth Parade held in the City of Batac on August 12. This year’s theme, “From Clicks to Progress: Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development,” highlights the crucial role of the youth in driving digital innovation.

Sangguniang Kabataan delegates and members of various youth organizations from cities and municipalities of the province actively participated in the event. The parade symbolized a unified commitment to shaping a brighter future for the province and the nation

It was graced by Vice Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos with Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Rafael Medina, along with Vice Mayor Windell D. Chua and the members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

The new set of Junior Provincial Officials led by Junior Governor Gabriel Openshaw, and Junior Vice Governor Alyana Ynez Aurora Chua who are both from Batac.

Beyond the parade, participants showcased their creativity and talent through a chalk art walk and a battle of the bands.

The Linggo ng Kabataan features talent competitions and debate cups that aim to showcase wits and talents, nurturing responsibility and capability among the young generation.
