The Schools Division of the City of Batac (SDCB) spearheaded the nationwide celebration of Araw ng Pagbasa this morning at Mariano Marcos Memorial Elementary School. Superintendent Anselmo R. Aludino, together with Mayor Albert D. Chua, warmly welcomed distinguished guests, including Dr. Leila P. Areola, Director of the Bureau of Learning Delivery, representing Senator and DepEd Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara.
Also in attendance were Provincial Board Member Rafael C. Medina, representing Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc; DepEd Region I Director Tolentino G. Aquino; as well as DepEd Central and regional officials, Schools Division Superintendents, Assistant SDSs, teachers, and students.
This year’s celebration, themed “Sa Pagbasa, May Pag-asa,” highlighted the critical role of literacy in shaping a brighter future for Filipino learners, emphasizing its importance as a foundation for nation-building.
