To make it a regular program of the city government and to be able to appropriate funds for its more efficient implementation, the Pasilaw Pro-Poor Program has been institutionalized through CIty Ordinance No. 5SP 2022-03.

It was ceremonially launched during the regular session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod on Monday, March 20, with 16 beneficiaries.

The program aims to provide assistance to indigent households without permanent electrical connection through free consultations, electrical plans, installation and electrical materials.

Mayor Albert Chua hopes that with the institutionalization of this program, all households will have a safe and permanent electric source connection.

Likewise during the launching, Vice Mayor Windell D. Chua said that this program will be of great help to indigent households who cannot afford the needed requirements for electrification.

The implementing department is the Office of the Building Official led by Engr. Richard Pungtilan in partnership with the Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative and the Electrical Engineering Department of the Mariano Marcos State University – College of Engineering.
